Wedding Stationery Timeline - Bojack Studios Etiquette Guide

12 Months Before Your Wedding

Compile your guest list and gather addresses. Remember to keep your venue capacity and budget in mind.

11 Months Before Your Wedding

Order your save the dates. We suggest ordering a 15-20 extras in case any are lost in the mail or your guest list grows.

10 Months Before Your Wedding

Send out your Save the Dates! We suggest having your wedding website up at this point as well. Your website doesn't need to be completely fleshed out at this point, but it's good to at least have the basics set up for guests who may need to make travel plans.

7 Months Before Your Wedding

Begin pulling inspiration images for your invitation suite. You can view our collections & all of the customization options offered or we can work to create a completely custom suite for you.

6 Months Before Your Wedding

It's time start thinking about your invitation suite! Be sure to confirm your start time with your venue(s) and vendors, and update your guest list.

Determine which pieces you'll want to include in your invitation suite, and decide what wording is appropriate for your event(s). Take a look at our Invitation Wording Guide for inspiration. We also suggest placing an order for coordinating thank you cards along with your invitations - so that you'll be prepared to send thank you notes to anyone who sends a pre-wedding gift to you and your partner.

5 Months Before Your Wedding

Place your invitation order. Don't forget to order a few extras (ideally 15-20 extras) in case any are lost in the mail, to save a few for yourself & family, and in case your guest list increases at all. If you are managing your own guest addressing (or hiring a calligrapher), we recommend ordering an extra 25 mailing envelopes to make sure you're covered for errors, set-up, etc.

4 Months Before Your Wedding

Once you submit your final proof approval, your invites will be printed & shipped! If you're managing guest addressing or hiring a calligrapher, you'll want to get the envelopes sorted out right away. If we're taking care of your addressing, you've just got to assemble! We suggest taking a completed suite to the post office to have it weighed - if you order postage through Bojack Studios, we will do this prior to printing your stamps.

3 Months Before Your Wedding

Stuff your suites and get ready to mail your invites. Mailing dates tend to vary based on your specific circumstance (i.e. destination or local wedding, time of year, when you need your final headcount, and whether or not you are sending a 2nd round of "B-list" invitations). As a general rule, we suggest mailing your invitations between 8-10 weeks before your wedding, with a reply date of 4-6 weeks before your big day. Make sure your website is updated, if needed before mailing out your invitations.

At this time, you'll also want to start thinking about day-of stationery for your wedding (menus, programs, place/escort cards, signage, etc.).

2 Months Before Your Wedding

Place your order for day-of stationery. We'll work with you to design gorgeous wedding weekend paper goods.

1 Month Before Your Wedding

By now, you should have a final headcount and seating chart. Confirm your place/escort card order and any final tweaks to your wedding weekend stationery.

1 Week Before Your Wedding
